Walnut Acreage Extraction and Growth Monitoring Based on the NDVI Time Series and Google Earth Engine

Walnut (Juglans regia) planting is the main economic pillar industry in southern Xinjiang. Based on Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud platform, NDVI maximum synthesis method was used to estimate changes walnut cultivation area Ganquan Town, South Xinjiang, from 2017 2021. The simultaneous difference between and meteorological conditions also monitor growth correlation analysis of walnuts April September To improve classification accuracy extracted plantation area, Sentinel-2 image data were selected, features trained using random forest algorithm, by combining topographic features, texture NDVI, EVI. results show that, compared with Statistical Yearbook data, average error planted less than 10%, overall 92.828%, kappa coefficient 90.344%, 94.4%. significantly improved adding vegetation indices EVI single index. An monitoring comparative shows that better during hardcore oil transformation stages 2020, fruit development stage, same as overall, 2021 previous years.
